Cartagena

Cartagena nightlife safety for visitors

Overview

Cartagena is one of the most social cities in the Caribbean, and most nights end without trouble. The risks that do show up are predictable: distraction theft in crowded plazas, drink spiking in busy bars, unofficial guides on the wall, and taxis without an agreed fare. Going out as a group with people who know the streets changes the picture. Stay with your friends, keep your phone in a front pocket, and agree on a meeting point before the first drink. If a bar feels wrong, leave together. National emergency line 123 covers police, fire, and ambulance in Colombia. Save your hotel or Airbnb name in your phone and take a daylight photo of the door so you can find it after midnight.

The full guide with extra detail is in City Briefing after you sign in or create an account with your invite code.
